My syscall can only dump cores or produce 0 results.
But that of the extended module ,Perl produce correct results.
The config.h has HAVE_SYSCALL enabled alright.
I'm on HP-UX10.20.
eg.
irb(main):001:0> $$
14300
irb(main):002:0> syscall(20)
0
irb(main):003:0> Perl.new.eval("syscall(20)")
14300
