From: Bil Kleb Date: 2002-07-25T11:46:31+09:00 Subject: Compiling ruby on SGI origins I just tried compiling ruby-1.6.7 on a couple SGI origins (mips-sgi-irix6.5), and encountered some difficulties. For example, one machine gave, ld -shared -L/tmp_mnt/home/ab16/ab/kleb/local/ruby-1.6.7 -o tcltklib.so stubs.o tcltklib.o -L/home/ab16/ab/kleb/local/ruby-1.6.7/lib -ltk8.0 -ltcl8.0 -lX11 -lm -ldl -lsocket -lnsl -lc ld32: FATAL 9 : I/O error (-ltk8.0): No such file or directory *** Error code 32 (bu21) What other information do I need to provide? The configure looked normal. I don't have access to the other machine at the moment, but the small bit I managed to capture went like this, gcc -fPIC -g -O2 -Dsocklen_t=int -I. -I/u/.realmounts/le/gnoffo/local/ruby-1.6.7 -I/u/.realmounts/le/gnoffo/local/ruby-1.6.7 -I/u/gnoffo/local/include -DHAVE_NETINET_UDP_H -DHAVE_INET_NTOP -DHAVE_INET_PTON -DHAVE_GETSERVBYPORT -DHAVE_ARPA_INET_H socket.c:93: warning: `_SS_ALIGNSIZE' redefined /usr/include/sys/socket.h:216: warning: this is the location of the previous definition socket.c:94: warning: `_SS_PAD1SIZE' redefined /usr/include/sys/socket.h:222: warning: this is the location of the previous definition socket.c:96: warning: `_SS_PAD2SIZE' redefined /usr/include/sys/socket.h:224: warning: this is the location of the previous definition socket.c:98: redefinition of `struct sockaddr_storage' *** Error code 1 (bu21) Thanks, -- Bil
