I know what you mean.  Rose puts up with a lot from me, but after a 
while, hearing me ask 'And how do you say ...' for the zillionth time 
gets to her, and she hands me the English-German dictionary.

However, from what German I *have* learned from her (and her family, 
when we visit Kempten) I have a Bavarian accent.

Which she finds quite amusing.  And I find easier to pronounce.
