Hello,
I think I need help for Ruby on Windows NT.
Maybe I don't understand how to use "system"
The following code:
print "Hello, world\n"
system("notepad")
print "Good bye, world\n"
I run ruby 1.4.0 (1999-08-13) [i386-cygwin] downloaded from
http://www.sugihara.com/ruby/
On Windows NT SP4 it does:
1. prints "Hello, world\n" (ok)
2. nothing. It just hangs.
When I look in task manager I see two instances of
ruby.exe running.
Hitting ctrl-c or ctrl-break does not help.
Sometimes when I kill one of the processes the other
one will print "Good bye, world" and exit, but not
always.
On Windows 2000 RC2 build 2128 it does
1. prints "Hello, world\n" (ok)
2. dialog box "ruby.exe - Application Error /The instruction
at "0x6105afaa" referenced memory at "0x0a032004". The
memory could not be "read". / Click on OK to terminate the
program / click on CANCEL to debug the program.
3. It hangs there. I click OK.
4. it prints "Good bye, world" (ok)
Any hint is welcome.
