Hmmm... configure problems.  See below.

Here's the record of that process:

  $ ruby extconf.rb

  checking for FIONREAD... no

  Gavin Sinclair@nosedog ~/Projects/ruby18/ext/io/wait
  $ make
  make: Nothing to be done for `all'.

  Gavin Sinclair@nosedog ~/Projects/ruby18/ext/io/wait
  $ make install
  make: Nothing to be done for `install'.


I guess those failed checks must be the problem.  Probably a Cygwin
thing.  I'll try it on Linux tomorrow.
