If you have X installed, in will behave in the X environment pretty much as it would on any UN*X machine. Now, to have access to the MacOS GUI (via aquaTk for example), you might want to give a look at: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/12567 On the other hand, I have not been able to get everything the way I would like on my mac and I use ruby mainly on the command line.
