Ruby 1.6.2 solaris2.6 #If you go into the ruby/ext/socket directory and type #ruby extconf.rb #does it complain about not being able to find anything? #Dave No, it does a configure, I went through all of the relevant directories in under ext and did that, then a make then a make install, still nothing. There is a "/usr/gnu/lib/ruby/1.6/sparc-solaris2.6/socket.so", but that's it. ruby -e 'require "socket" or print "oh no"' says "oh no". Did I screw something up in the installation? I uncommented everything that I wanted from ext/Setup. > Also, we have a truly rough firewall which requires login and only allows > traffic through port 80. Is there anyway for me to get through this? #I'd tell you, but then I'd have... ...show me? Yeah, I'm pretty slow with stuff sometimes, showing me would really be the best way ;) #Dave --MIME MULTIPART BOUNDARY=.980280563:+'1--
