Just reading through _Programming Ruby_ (Great book! I haven't skipped a
page yet, and I know some of this! ;), and came across a little snippet:
require 'socket'
client = TCPSocket.open('localhost', 'finger')
client.send("oracle\n", 0)
...
And being a good rubian (?), I try all of the examples, of course ;). But
I don't seem to have the socket module. Ruby 1.6.2 solaris2.6
Also, we have a truly rough firewall which requires login and only allows
traffic through port 80. Is there anyway for me to get through this?
