Hi,

The latest version of Firebird (1.5) has been
rewritten in C++ and has been very much improved in
the process. It's a very lightweight but powerful
(R)DBMS. I advise anyone interested to take a look at
their sites:

The only "problem" is to use ODBC to access it.
