Subject: [ruby-talk:9632] Win9x Problem starting RubyWin V1.6.2 through menu shortcut

When I run a shortcut to Rubywin off my START menu, I
get the following error:

Failed assertion
           !(pos2 > len2)
  at line 126 of file /usr/local/cygwin/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-
cygwin/2.95.2-5/../../../../include/g++-3/std/bastring.cc

Running Rubywin from the command line works flawlessly.

This setup worked fine in Windows V1.6.1 distribution.
(I uninstalled before upgrading to the prebuilt Windows V1.6.2).

The shortcut was defined as:

Target:        "C:\Program Files\Ruby\bin\rubywin.exe"
Start in:      "C:\Program Files\Ruby\bin\"
Shortcut key:  None
Run:           Normal window

I checked an there no extraneous Cygwin*.dll (only the
onse in the ...ruby\bin\ directory.

Any suggestions?
