Same thing here.. evolving over time, gets refined for every release I do.
One day, one should make a full-blown general release system.

specification for input:
Is should ship with a few common input templates, which users
can customize after their needs.

needs to bundle another package with our package.

should anything be compiled on the server before packaging, or
should they be compiled on the users box (client).


specification for output:
output archives in these formats: gem, tgz, zip, rpm...


But then again a system fully customized can be made within ours, just by
using simple tools as Ruby+Rake+FileUtils.
