method one - use ruby's ability to declare accessors

    attr :count, 1

  d = Demo.new
  puts d.get_count
  d.anotherfunc
  d.get_count

method two - turn on warnings

  ~ > cat b.rb
  $VERBOSE = true

  d.anotherfunc
  d.get_count
