From: "HOLOWKO,LARS (A-Germany,ex1)" Date: 2001-01-16T17:36:47+09:00 Subject: [ruby-talk:9367] Compilation trouble - How to tell ruby to look for libraries in / opt/gnu/lib when gcc doesn't search there by default? Newbie requires help. When I compile ruby, ruby cannot find the optional libraries (stored in /opt/gnu/lib, which is not in the default library search path of my gcc installation) and thus doesn't generate correct Makefiles in ext (e.g. curses, db, readline, ...). I tried to build it with ./configure --prefix=/opt/gnu/lib --enable-shared. I bet it is an option that has to be passed to ./configure - am I wrong? Reagards, Lars
