Subject: [ruby-talk:9359] getc/ungetc?

Hello all...

I'm finding that ungetc doesn't seem to work 
as documented (Ruby 1.6.1 on SunOS 5.7
and on Win98).

ungetc takes a parameter that doesn't seem
to do anything... am I missing something?

Actually, I think I like the real behavior better
than the documented... 

What is broken: The interpreter, the docs,
or my mind?  :)
