Heh.  Your LRU cache looks pretty similar to mine.  I ran into exactly the 
same issue with the LRU cache in Iowa.  Expired content never actually got 
removed from the cache.  Holy Creeping Memory Leak, Batman!  In my case it 
fortunately did not grow by a substantial amount with each pageview, but 
over a little time or with a lot of hits the effects eventually became 
debilitatingly apparent.
