I would myself.. no use at the moment, but I can see it's inevitable usage 
here.  I've pretty much run into having to connect to every other database 
but DB2 and Interbase so far.

That would probably be the best approach. 

The only thing I would like to add here, is that I'd like to see it, as 
well as more things, use the RDBC module. If the RDBC module has flaws, 
then something similar. I really would love to see a standardized interface 
for accessing all SQL dabases, similar to Perl's DBI. How active is RDBC 
development? What do people think about it?

Perl has flourished since DBI gained the upper hand. I'd like to see the 
same thing happen in Ruby, where the database a project can use is decided 
by SQL compliance (of the code, and the db server) rather then whatever the 
developer used. I'd rather avoid the chaos I work with in PHP at the moment.

I'm thinking about writing a medium sized database-driven web application,  
(my first >100 line ruby script!)  I'm currently looking at using Postgres, 
rather then Interbase or MySQL, primarily due to the fact that I can 
readily use RDBC. I however, put my own database wrapper in, in case 
someone wants to use a non-RDBC driver due to it's relative infancy. 

P.S. Anyone else think that RAA submitters should start standardizing 
module names like, GUI/Gtk, GUI/Qt, Crypt/CAST, Crypt/SHA1? Guess I'm a 
sucker for CPAN.
