See in > the directory ruby-1.6.2/ext/readline More info: When I run 'irb --readline' or even just 'irb' from the dir you mention, it works nicely. When I run 'irb' from other dirs, it works, but without command line editing. When I run 'irb --readline' from other dirs, I get the error I reported before: /usr/lib/ruby/1.6/irb/main.rb:557:in `initialize': uninitialized constant IRB::Context::ReadlineInputMethod (NameError) from /usr/lib/ruby/1.6/irb/main.rb:305:in `new' from /usr/lib/ruby/1.6/irb/main.rb:305:in `initialize' from /usr/lib/ruby/1.6/irb/main.rb:51:in `new' from /usr/lib/ruby/1.6/irb/main.rb:51:in `start' from /usr/bin/irb:19 Do I have to put etc/readline on some path variable? -- Joel VanderWerf skeeler@sirius.com
