You can get information about Hardware via Registry like this:

require 'win32/registry.rb'

  Win32::Registry::HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.open('HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System') do
|reg|
    puts "SystemBiosDate: #{reg['SystemBiosDate']}"
    puts "SystemBiosVersion: #{reg['SystemBiosVersion'][0]}"
  end
