On Unices, HOME variable points each users own directory, and all user specific data are stored there. On Windows, "My Documents", "Application Data" or "User Profile" might be it. Commonly, this directory is expressed as "~/", and I suspect ruby on Windows should expand it to one of those folders. -- Nobu Nakada
