Interesting comparisons between languages for performance.

Ruby does pretty well.

List processing and a few other areas seem somewhat significantly slower.
Beats Python and perl in almost all cases.

Incidentally is there a fast way to insert items into an array(effectively a 
list), e.g. a priority queue
