looking at
http://bulknews.net/lib/doc-ja/perldelta.html#Performance_Enhancements

it seems to me that the adoption of one-at-a-time hashes does' nt
affect much perl's performance.
Could it be your results are tainted from something external?

or
they rest of Perl interpreter is taking away all the advantages of the
change?

or
 I did'nt get a clue about what's happening and about the things I'm
reading? (my bet is on this)
