What exactly *do* you have in your httpd.conf, it sounds like you just
aren't requiring the appropriate module.  Here's the relevant section
from my httpd.conf

  RubyRequire apache/ruby-run

  # exec *.rbx as ruby scripts.

    SetHandler ruby-object
