As to the Safari thing: Would you believe I don't know much more
about it than you do? Their system for handling that is not even
automated yet. In theory I do get royalties on those on a per-copy
basis, but I've yet to see any records on it.

In any case, I haven't seen a penny in royalties yet. They have to
make up the advance they gave me while the manuscript was in progress.
I hope to see some royalties before Ruby 3.0 comes out.   1/2 :)

As for the trees, dont you every tree that isn't cut down for a
Ruby book will be cut down to make a third of a C++ book?
