Subject: install.rb and --prefix

I want to do something like:
    File.open("$prefix/share/alamo.jpg", "rb") do |f|
	FXLabel.new(theMainWindow,"").icon = FXJPGIcon.new(theApp, f.read)
    end

I want $prefix to be tied to whatever prefix the sysadmin gave to
install.rb, as in
    ruby install.rb --prefix=$HOME

I can't find it in the docs for install.rb.
