All,

Sometimes I say things that seem remarkably witty (to me) at the time, 
but upon reflection realize that they are just inappropriate. 
Fortunately for me, I have been reminded off-line that some things are 
not funny in *any* context, and I appreciate that counsel.

So, to anyone who was offended by my recent remarks, let me offer my 
sincere apologies.
