I'm not a lawyer, so I prefer BSD, because it's truly free. It has no strings other than 'give credit where it's due'. GPLs 'might/might not be free in your situation' is too much hassle. If I spend the effort to write code, I think *I* should be allowed to choose what to do with it, rather than leave that choice to the author of a library I used. That's not free in my book.
