From: Armin Roehrl Date: 2003-06-27T05:34:28+09:00 Subject: Euruko 03: some slides and photos are online. Hi all, I put the slides and pics I got so far online. I will continue updating the page whenever s.b. emails me more slides and photos. If I got sth. from you and ignored your email -- please do complain. link: http://approximity.com/euruko03/slides/ I rather quickly produced that webpage. Please email me if there are any dead links, etc. Seeing the hard work on ruby driving Java alone from Mauricio Fernandey (aka Mr. Batsman) was probably enough of a reason to organise that conference. A thanks to all the people that helped immensely with the organization .. esp. Michael Neumann and Stefan Schmiedl. Without wanting to put down anybody's talk, I esp. think that Hal's talk on the ruby API was a nice summary on what an API should look like. Maybe we want to add an text-based summary of it to the Ruby download. One other nice thing about the conference was the fact that there are commercial companies out there .. actually producing solutions in ruby (hi to Belarus (sam solutions) and Germany (Approximity)) . Thx for the patience & don't forget the next RubyConf in November in Austin, Texas, USA. It's worth going there just to see what the people behind the emails look like and hey if an American like David Alan Black speaks German and knows more about German literature than I as a German do .. then it becomes really impressive. One last thing: A big big thanks to the sponsors: - Approximity - dpunkt.verlag - linux-enterprise - Q-Software-Solutions - GI Ciao & enjoy ruby, -A. p.s.: According to Michael even the sound in the video works. It might take a few weeks though, till they are converted in the appropriate format, etc. - I know the fact that it's one of the warmest summers in Germany for years does not help. ---------------------------------------- Armin Roehrl, http://www.approximity.com We manage risk
