By taking a brief look at TestUnit package it looks it should be capable running tests in GUI environment (Fox & GTK). In TestUnit package there is ts_examples example with tc_adder & tc-subtracter classes. How to run it under Fox and/or GTK? Is it possible to run TestUnit in GTK2 environment?
