Subject: Type, Class, Domain, Ruby, Relational Model [Was: Re: Does dynamic typing make it easier to place an object in a container?]

Just a note on my questions about type (also known as class, in Ruby).

I am interested in better understanding type issues (static, dynamic, 
strong, weak, casting, etc.) because, it seems to me, Ruby's 
implementation of this concept is entirely consistent with the concept 
of types (also known as domains) in the relational model of database 
systems.

It seems that Ruby, because of the brilliance of its design (single 
inheritance, type = class, mixins for extensions and constraints, 
etc.), is an ideal environment for the creation of logical models of 
data that are fully consistent with the pure version of the relational 
model (i.e., little or no "object-relational impedance").

It also seems that dynamic typing is useful in this regard.
