I think the result would be beneficial.

Seriously, there are people who might work on
projects full-time if there were funding 
available. But they are working part-time on
Ruby things while doing a "real job" at the
same time.

Matz, I believe, works on Ruby full-time. I 
do not know whether anyone else does.
