Ruby 1.8 is much "smarter" in treating argument parentheses.
Or dumber this case.

Don't put space before argument parens in Ruby.  Since Ruby allows
omitting argument parentheses, it sometimes confuses.  When in Ruby,
do as matz do. ;-)

Try -w if you have doubt.
