Mnemonic has been an inactive project for over a year, hence the need
for a new project. However, Leslie Hensley (the author of Mnemonic) may
continue to work on it now. We'll see if we can merge the two projects
or something.

Madeleine itself is only a few objects. The memory usage depends almost
entirely on how big your application is.
