Subject: Ruby code for reading unformatted Fortran files

Does anyone have a code snippet to read Fortran unformatted files
(sequential binary files with 4-byte record lengths mixed in before
and after each record)?

It looks like the Ruby-GFD folks have something,

but I only know a pitiful handful of Japanese characters (the misc1 section
is not yet translated to english) and I have yet to find it in the source. :(
