However, now that I've confessed my difficulties as a non-programmer
navigating deeper waters than I'm comfortable in, let me throw my question
out to a wider group than just Chris Morris. 

If you're not programming full-time, how in the heck can you figure out
what's going on with Windows? 

And, Are there any examples of using Win32API anywhere?
