I remember having some conversations at the first RubyConf (2001),
about the possibility of having a test suite that served to define a
given version of a program.  I think one of the programs in question
was Ruby :-)  but mainly we were talking about it as a general
proposition.

I suppose the problem would be in the realm of the relation between
the specific examples and the general behaviors they represent.
