From: Idan Sofer Date: 2003-02-28T03:28:52+09:00 Subject: [ANN] Radical 0.65 released http://idanso.dyndns.org:8081/downloads/Radical-0.65.tar.bz2 From the ChangeLog: = Version 0.65 * Configuration using YAML Radical can be now configured using YAML syntax, thanks to a patch from "why the lucky stiff" . Currently it requires YAML4R from CVS, that at least what i've tested. Loading YAML is attempted by default, however it can be easily overriden by editing radical.rb or specifying "-C xml" * Additional speed boost Using additional optimizations to both the request processing cycle and GeneralHandler, static content serving will perform even better. A bug in cMTServer, causing it randomly crash, was fixed, it may now also bind into multiple interfaces/ports and supports SSL properly. whytheluckystiff also contributed a patch for FreeBSD compatiblity. * Change in the behaviour of the template compiler The previous approach was to create a template as an instance of Template class(using singleton methods), duplicating it as needed. Instead the templates are compiled into a subclass of Template, creating instances when needed. * Extended rewrite rules Instead of linear list of rules, multiple chains may be created, with some rules pinpointing to different chains("main" is always executed first). * Packages In order to make it easier distirbuting applications based on Radical, the concept of "packages" was created. Basicly a package is a combination of scripts, templates, static content and supplimental libraries, that may be distributed independently in a tar/gz, that is simply extracted into the "packages" subdirectory, see docsrc/packages.rdoc * Other minor stuff * Ability to properly fork, detach and restart, without the overhead of loader.rb * Handler for bogres(also contributed by whytheluckystiff)
