does anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to configure vim for use
with ruby?  i see in the vim documentation that it can be set up to
automatically 'make' c programs;  obviously ruby isn't compiled, but i'm
interested to know if there are features of this kind that i'm missing. 

also, a while ago i saw something which would evaluate your ruby
statements as you wrote in vim, in the standard '# ->' kind of way..
does anyone know what i'm talking about, and is it useful?  i got the
impression it was like having irb embedded into vim, which sounds pretty
cool to me.

as always any pointers, tips or clues would be greatfully received.
