I'm using this library with Java and JNI. I snipped the rest because I don't follow how you made the transition from talking about rb_funcall2() to the parsing of Float literals. You may want to show some code, to provide some indication of how you're calling rb_funcall2() in your extension code. It should look something like this: VALUE result; result = rb_funcall2(receiver_obj, method_id, argc, argv); where receiver_obj is the object on which you're invoking the method call, method_id is a Symbol (e.g. returned from a call to rb_intern) for the method name, argc is an integer giving the number of arguments to pass to the method, and argv is a C array of VALUEs.
