From: Tomasz Wegrzanowski Date: 2003-01-23T11:48:03+09:00 Subject: Ruby, C, and garbage collection VALUE a, b, c; a = rb_some_function_1(); b = rb_some_function_2(); c = rb_do_something(a,b); In this code, if Ruby decides to do GC during rb_some_function_2, `a' will be destroyed, and it will segfault at rb_do_something. Well, real code that segfaults is a bit more complex, but the problem is the same - after allocation of one variable, GC is run, and another variable is destroyed, and then it segfaults trying to use destroyed variable. How to overcome that ?
