Well, Ruby's 'sort' is smarter than I expected: >> array = [10, 2] => [10, 2] >> array.sort => [2, 10] >> array = ['10', '2'] => ["10", "2"] >> array.sort => ["10", "2"] The latter example is what I was thinking of.
