Odd numbered releases are "developmental". That means only Ruby insiders 
should mess with them. They are like a "beta release" that show new 
internal features or architectures.

User programmers should only use even numbers (like Linux). Go from 1.6 to 
1.8 as soon as a Windows distro arrises for it.
