Subject: Migrating 1.6 -> 1.7

Hi folks,

I'm attempting to migrate from 1.6 to 1.7, and perhaps embrace the
native Windows version, but I'm wondering about one thing in
particular.

Why do so many libraries install themselves into the site_ruby/1.6
directory?  I don't imagine that there is anything particularly
1.6-ish about them.

I'd also like to hear any other comments people have about this topic.
