At my day job we build (and ship!) commercial applications on Solaris (and Linux, and a host of other OSes). OK, the facts that it failed with an internal compiler error (for this particular attempt) and that the compiles don't always fail in the same places are big red flags to me that indicate that there's some more fundamental problem, like memory (RAM) failing or some other hardware problem. Another possibility is that you're running into a compiler bug that has been fixed in more recent versions of gcc. Do you know which compiler version you're using? If it's older than, say, gcc-2.95, is it possible to upgrade to a more recent version? > Thank you for trying. I'll keep working at it, but I'm really stuck. OK. Keep me posted (or check in with the foxgui-users mailing list) if there's something else we can try.
