Subject: Sending messages to a process

Hi,

     Thanks Mikkel...but let me try and explain again...I have to automate the 
testing of an application...

       Open the application to be executed in unix
          Open a file and read values
          Send those values to the application
       check if application is still active..otherwis kill it.


     The question I have is how can I send the values stored in file( numbers 
and text to the application) to the application that was activated. 

    To open the application I can use the system, exec....commands but What 
commands are there in ruby that can be used send messages to the application.

      Otherwise can I use TCL\ expect commands in ruby...If so How can I do it.

      I hope my question is clear...Please send any other ideas, suggestions 
also....thanks.
