Thanks for the reply.  Is this bug not fixed in 1.6 ?  What is the recommended 
ruby version for production environments?  If 1.6 is still recommended as the 
most stable version, should cgi.rb be patched to not cause the core dump?  
I'd rather not maintain local diffs if I can help it.
