   Spreadsheet/Excel 0.0.1
          Daniel Berger posted an announcement for Spreadsheet/Excel
          0.0.1 which allows you to programatically generate MS Excel
          compatable files on any platform. It is a port of version .21
          of John McNamara's Spreadsheet::WriteExcel Perl module.

   xregex-0.02
          Martin DeMello announced the release of his extended regex
          library, which he considers alpha, but useable. This release
          features named subexpressions.

   MiniRubyWiki has struck again
          Phlip announced the latest release of his tiny wiki with a
          built in webserver. It's doing ever more stuff while staying
          pretty small.

   INTERESTING THREADS
   ===================

   each_with_index & collect_with_index?
          This turned into a fairly long (but quite interesting) thread
          about Ruby, or not.

   RCR: Stack, Queue alias methods in Array
          Another good discussion of how and why you might (or might not)
          extend Ruby.

   A Lesson Learned
          Gavin Sinclair was reminded of the adage "Make it work, make it
          right, then make it fast." He balanced his Karma by sharing the
          story ... I'm hoping to help balance mine by sharing it again.

   Numerical Ruby
          Olivier Saut asked for help optimizing some numerical work he
          was doing in Ruby. Help from the list bought him a 50x speed
          up. Wow!

   WeRDS, the Weekly Ruby-Doc Summary, for 2002-12-01
          Gavin Sinclair brought us this weeks summary of the Ruby-Doc
          project.

   ruby-dev summary #18924-18973
          TAKAHASHI Masayoshi brings us this weeks summary of the
          Japanese language Ruby Development list.

   Last week's meeting
          Martin Stannard sent a brief note about the most recent Sydney
          Ruby Users meeting. The thread blossomed into a nice discussion
          about what to do next. Makes me wish I had a reason to go to
          Sydney.
