Subject: learning symbol

Hi,

I tried to use the following in my program

case header
   when :TO, :CC, :BCC
	...
   when :FROM
                  ....
end

While header is a string copied from a header line of emails. I think it
won't work, because header is string, not symbol. I checked the manual,
there seems exists Symbol#id2name, but not String#name2id. Anyone can
help me to learn how to use symbol?
