I asked my ISP to install it (plus mod_ruby), and they said I could compile Ruby myself, and run it as CGI, but that they wouldn't run it globally. (This was after I had already compiled it myself, so maybe they just figured out what I was doing and decided to just let it go ...) I don't get the bennies of mod_ruby (nor the problems of changed code that doesn't get reloaded), but I do get complete control over the version installed. James > > Phil > >
