But you end up with requirements that are very different from the way sessions work. * no static html files * server has to track user's IP addresses if it wants to ensure that session data isn't transfered when someone emails a link, etc. and the big plus for cookie sessions... * user cannot control whether or not they are being tracked without cookies. A disallowed cookie is more likely to be a privacy decision (doesn't want to be tracked) than a technological decision (doesn't want to use cookies). Those users are likely to be upset if you go ahead and track them. ~ Patrick
