That doesn't seem counter to your point at all. If this isn't really the Object class, but another one of the same name, then when I type 'Object.myLoad', it is using the same class. Basically, it seems I have no access to the real Object class. Maybe this is a good thing, since it would still be around for other scripts? (I think?) Consider this: def myLoad ... end myLoad # Works just fine. However, myLoad isn't accessible from other methods/scopes. Is there any way at all that I can set up this function so that all I can just type 'myLoad' anywhere I want and have it work? Chris
